Megawords Book 8, Student Edition

Book 8 focuses on assimilated prefixes. Some of the words were seen in earlier books when the focus was on endings, giving the opportunity to review already mastered skills. Since the words are grouped by prefix, they have a variety of endings and accent patterns. Exercises include spelling practice, proofreading, crossword puzzles, word finds, fill in the blank, categorizing, sorting, and passage reading for fluency and comprehension.

Skills addressed include assimilated prefixes, List 39: com-, List 40: ad-, List 41: sub-, List 42: ob-, dis-, List 43: ex-, syn-, and List 44: in-.

Megawords teaches the reading, spelling, and contextual use of multisyllabic words through multisensory instruction and systematic skills progression. It can be used in a variety of settings and across all RTI tiers.
