Megawords Book 1, Student Edition

In Book 1, students learn to use syllabification to help them sound out and spell words. Exercises include spelling practice, proofreading, crossword puzzles, word finds, fill in the blank, categorizing, sorting, and passage reading for fluency and comprehension.

Skills addressed include 6 types of syllables, 5 syllabication rules, List 1: Compound words, List 2: VC/CV closed syllables, List 3: VC/CV silent-e syllables, List 4: VC/CV r-controlled syllables, List 5: V/CV, List 6: VC/V, List 7 /Cle, and List 8: V/V.

Megawords teaches the reading, spelling, and contextual use of multisyllabic words through multisensory instruction and systematic skills progression. It can be used in a variety of settings and across all RTI tiers.
