Common Core Support Coach Target: Reading Comprehension, Student Edition, Grade 7

Support Coach Target: Reading Comprehension has been developed specifically for students who struggle with the rigorous content required to master the standards. Lessons cover essential grade-level standards, with each lesson targeting a critical skill. Each lesson focuses on a specific genre and essential grade-level standards and reading skills that support comprehension of the genre. Emphasis on close reading strategies provides many opportunities for comprehension skill development, including students engaging in multiple reads of the same text, each time focusing on a different skill, and eventually reading an independent selection of that same genre and using those same skills. As their reading comprehension skills improve, students can begin to transfer that to other content areas.
